Proud papa Jay-Z has gone from name-checking brand labels in his new songs to boasting about his baby daughter Blue Ivy. On the new track “3 Kings”, which will appear on Rick Ross’ highly anticipated God Forgives, I Don’t album, Jay-Z brags about his new daughter’s swag — and more specifically her socks. SOHH reports:

Rap mogul Jay-Z penned a dedication track to his six-month old Blue Ivy Carter on “Glory” earlier this year and is now back to boast about her again on Rick Ross and Dr. Dre‘s new “3 Kings” anthem.

The track premiered late Thursday (July 19) night, just weeks before Ricky Rozay’s God Forgives, I Don’t album hits store shelves.

The song opens with Dre, who raps, “You should listen to this beat through my headphones,” a reference to his ubiquitous high-end cans. He’s not the only rapper with something to brag about: “We should listen to this track in my Maybach,” Ross adds, nodding toward his label of the same name as well as his car collection. Jay-Z turns to the birth of his daughter, Blue Ivy, to chronicle his riches: “Ni**as couldn’t f*** with my daughter’s room/ni**as couldn’t walk in my daughter’s socks,” he raps. (Billboard)
