Lil Wayne’s new video draws comparisons to Colorado theater shooting

Rapper Lil Wayne has stirred some controversy that seems to be more of an issue of bad timing than of a cause for concern. “My Homies Still” is Wayne’s first single off his upcoming album I Am Not A Human Being II and the accompanying video has drawn some comparisons to the movie theater shooting that took the lives of 12 innocent people in Aurora, Colorado.

The PARRIS directed video seems to fall into the quirky punk lane Weezy’s been occupying as of late, with pink elephants hanging on the lawn, and bright colors and dancing pandas. At the 3:37 second mark the scene switches from Wayne at a dinner table to the entire Cash Money team sitting in a movie theater with 14 skeletons.

It’s understandable how this scene in particular could conjure images of our country’s latest tragedy, but Weezy shot this video before Aurora tragedy occurred. Do you think he should take it down or at least edit it? Check out the video and let us know what you think below.
