theGRIO REPORT - Janet Jackson's attorney has released a statement claiming that she did not slap her niece Paris Jackson...

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

Last week Janet Jackson was at the center of a messy Jackson family feud that just wouldn’t seem to go away.  Countless media outlets accused the “Nasty” singer of slapping her niece Paris Jackson and calling her a spoiled b**ch, during an argument.

In a statement released yesterday, Janet’s attorney, Blair Brown said “Ms. Jackson did not slap Paris, and did not call her a ‘spoiled little b**ch’ or a ‘b**ch.'”

“[Those] false statements are highly damaging to Ms. Jackson’s reputation and have caused her significant harm,” Brown continued.

TMZ was among the first new outlets last week to allege that Janet was involved in a physical altercation with her niece, but today was forced to retract their original story:

Although we believed the story to be true when we published it, we have now determined it was not correct … Janet did not slap or otherwise touch Paris, nor did she verbally abuse her.
