It looks like former NFL star and Super Bowl winner Michael Strahan might have a new reason to celebrate. According to TMZ, Strahan has been picked to partner with Kelly Ripa on her morning syndicated talk show LIVE! with Kelly.
Several ABC staffers revealed “the talk in the building is that Strahan will be announced as the co-host,” TMZ reports.
Shrahan’s rep was reportedly seen outside of the ABC building in New York City today, “grinning from ear to ear.”
The 6’5 former New York Giants defensive end has appeared frequently as a guest-host for LIVE! with Kelly since June, and has been rumored as the frontrunner to become the permanent replacement for Ripa’s former co-host Regis Philbin.
Kelly Ripa will announce who gets the job for good during the Sept 4 broadcast of LIVE! with Kelly.
