Two-time Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas threw out the ceremonial first pitch at Citi Field Thursday night before the Mets-Rockies game. Before the game, Gabby spoke to children from a local YMCA about herself and her adventures in London as part of a Citi Field Kids event.

Douglas, 16, also posed for photos with Mets star David Wright, who grew up in the same area of Virginia as Douglas. She threw a good pitch to Mets pitcher Robert Carson to get the game started.

Citi Field is the most recent stop Gabby Douglas has made on her publicity tour since returning from the London Olympics. Among other interviews and show appearances, Douglas recently was interviewed by Oprah Winfrey for Oprah’s Next Chapter that will air in the coming weeks. The highly-anticipated interview will tell of Douglas’ journey to the Olympics and sacrifices and challenges along the way.
