A Savannah, Georgia man was attacked and badly beaten by a trio of thugs in Ellis Square because he has a black girlfriend.

Andrew Quade, a white male, was on his way to party with his African-American girlfriend, Olufisayo Bakre, on the night of August 24th, when they were allegedly jumped by the thugs.

According to reports from WTOC, the three men hurled resentful and racial slurs at couple before the unprovoked attacked occurred.

The hate crime landed Quade in a hospital and left him with a swollen eye and face.

Police are reviewing surveillance tapes and talking to witnesses in the hopes of bringing the perpetrators to justice.

There is no hate crime law in the state of Georgia, according to the police, but in this matter, “there are federal laws that can apply and the case could be referred to the FBI.”
