According to The TV Guide, Donald Glover is in talks to develop a new sitcom on NBC based loosely on his life. The Community star has written for 30 Rock and also raps under the moniker Childish Gambino. NBC is allegedly close to sealing the deal for a pilot.

It looks like Donald Glover will be engaging in some extracurricular work outside of Greendale Community College. The Community star, who plays former high school quarterback-turned-air conditioning repair annex recruit Troy Barnes, is developing a new show for NBC with 30 Rock co-executive producer Matt Hubbard.

The new sitcom is being developed as a starring vehicle for Glover. NBC is said to be committed to the project, and is close to sealing a deal for a put pilot (with a large penalty fee if it doesn’t move forward) for the show, which would be loosely based on Glover’s life.
