GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas is not a fan of law school rankings.

The Yale law school graduate told University of Florida law students Friday that judging law school graduates by where they graduated from and their upbringing is like the discrimination that minorities and women have fought in the past.

When he’s picking a clerk to work for him, Thomas said he likes to consider non-Ivy Leaguers.

Thomas spoke candidly with the students in a session that was more about life philosophy than about the many decisions the court has made.

When asked what was the most important decision the court has made since he was sworn in 1991, Thomas quickly said he didn’t know and left it at that.
