In honor of Halloween, we were going to feature books like Donald Trump’s Time to Get Tough or something truly scary, like Ann Coulter’s new book, but we decided instead to offer up some quality books that will get your blood boiling in another way.

This week’s list features some really scary titles, both true to life and fictional.

We lead the list with a classic story of a haunted house with a twist: The Good House is written by Tananarive Due, who Stephen King considers one of his favorite authors in this genre. (King is not on the list, by the way. There are simply too many Stephen King books from which to choose, and it would be unfair to pick just one).
