Mumford and Sons, the English folk rock band, have released the video for their new song “Lover of the Light.” It is directed by film star Idris Elba, who also appears in the clip as a man going through an emotional breakdown.
Elba manages to keep the video visually light, airy and filled with images of nature. Yet there are also dark and heavy feeling of loss and fragility.
Elba hit American television in 2002 in the award-winning HBO series The Wire as the drug kingpin “Stringer” Bell.
This isn’t the actor’s first time behind the camera. He is the current producer (and star) of the BBC’s award-winning crime drama Luther.
