Sometimes television analysts get carried away when calling games or reading highlights, but it’s still funny. And then are other times where they just say things they shouldn’t.

Sunday, television analyst and Hall of Fame quarterback Terry Bradshaw was guilty of the latter.

While reading through game highlights, Bradshaw commented that Miami Dolphins running back Reggie Bush was “chasing that bucket of chicken that the wind was blowing the other day.” Bush had one of the most electrifying touchdown runs of the season — and apparently, Bradshaw could find no better way to describe it than recycling a century-old stereotypes of African-American affinity for chicken.

The comment led to an audible groan from Fox NFL Sunday host Curt Menefee, who is black. Other hosts, including Michael Strahan, who is also African-American, seemed to just laugh Bradshaw’s comments off.

For the record, neither Bradshaw or the pregame show has yet to address his ‘chicken’ remarks.

In all likelihood, Bradshaw will apologize and all will be forgiven. The racial undertones in his comments, however, are still troubling.
