The hashtag #Ivoted has been trending nationwide throughout the day.
This is due in part by the growing number of celebrities posting photos to themselves as they vote for the next president of the United States.
Beyoncé, Brandy, Russell Simmons, Mariah Carey, Lenny Kravitz, Tyson Beckford, Mary J. Blige and other stars are leading by example and encouraging their millions of followers on Twitter and Instagram to get out and vote.
