After launching a storytelling app for children, Grammy Award-winning singer Alicia Keys, adorns the cover of Complex magazine.

The “Empire State of Mind” singer’s new album Girl On Fire will be released on November 27th, 2012. She appears on the cover in a long, white, off-shoulder top sitting by a circular window.

In the spread, Keys talks about being in the public eye for most of her life and how she felt like a caged lion before she made this record.

She explains this feeling when she says, “I felt like a girl misunderstood that no one really knew. I felt like it was time to stop making excuses for any part of my life that I wanted to change. Once I made that choice I became a girl on fire, the lion broke free!”

She continues to speak to Rob Kenner, about the emotions behind different songs of the new album. The R&B singer talks about her family and her new role of mother to son Egypt and wife to Swizz Beatz.

Her title song “Girl On Fire” has already hit #3 on Billboard top 100 R&B songs.

Be on the look out for her new album!
