Controversial R&B singer Chris Brown has been signed to a contract with Wilhelmina modeling agency according to reports from Women’s Wear Daily.

Wilhelmina signed Brown to its artist management division, which works with entertainers in the music and film industries to help them secure sponsorships, endorsements, product lines and advertising, among other services.

The agency plans to secure fashion and beauty endorsement and licenses for Brown, who said, “Art and style has always played a significant role in my life — it’s evolved with me throughout my career.”

Brown could face challenges with image-conscious advertisers because of his 2009 felony conviction after assaulting his then-girlfriend, Rihanna.

“Chris Brown is a…multifaceted artist with a unique take on style, and we are excited to translate and extend his brand,” said Taylor Hendrich, the director of Wilhelmina Men.

The prominent modeling agency also recently signed Pretty Girl Rock singer Keri Hilson.
