Grammy Award winning singer Beyoncé is the voice of Queen Tara in the upcoming 3-D comedy adventure Epic, and a new trailer depicting her character has been released.

From the creators of Ice Age and Rio, Epic tells the story of the forces of good and evil battling deep in the forest, and a girl from the outside world who gets magically transported into their universe.

Director Chris Wedge said Beyoncé’s character “is the one sworn to protect the forest and is the source of its magic,” reports Aol Music.

As queen of the fairies, Beyoncé’s character is responsible for protecting the forest from those who seek to destroy it.

In the new trailer Queen Tara is seen walking across water on lily pads, as well as jumping onto one in another clip.

Several other big name celebrities have loaned their talents to the film.

Comedians Aziz Ansari (Parks and Recreation) and Chris O’Dowd (Bridesmaids), as well as The Hunger Games series’ Josh Hutcherson, and Colin Farrell.

Epic hits theaters May 24th, 2013.
