Morgan Freeman, the Oscar-winning actor whose distinct voice has backed countless commercials, is now lending his pipes to the Human Rights Campaign for Gay Marriage.

A new 30 second ad for the organization featuring Freeman premiered yesterday, and will run throughout the week reports The Advocate.

The ad opens with visuals of the rising sun over American landmarks, with Freeman stating “America stands at the dawn of a new day.”

It also incorporates images of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the civil rights movement, as well as several present day families.

As the commercial comes to an end, Freeman closes by saying, “The wind is at our back, but our journey has just begun. Join us.”

The Human Rights Campaign president Chad Griffin released a statement along with the new ad.

This year proved to be a pivotal turning point in the movement for marriage equality, and now we press onward with renewed vigor and public opinion squarely on our side. As we continue the march toward full equality in legislatures and the courts, it is crystal clear that the prospect of an equal future is no longer up for debate; the question now is how soon it will arrive. While we celebrate today, we will keep fighting until full equality has reached every single person in every corner of this vast country.

With three more states (Maryland, Washington and Maine) legalizing gay marriage earlier this month, Griffin added: “Until there’s equality in all 50 states, we have a long way to go.”
