Miami Heat superstar Dwyane Wade recently announced that he will launch his new shoe line during New York Fashion week this February.

Wade signed with Chinese sneaker company Li-Ning in October after his contract with the Jordan brand expired.

For his new collection entitled WADE, the NBA star has teamed up with shoe designer Alejandro Ingelmo.

“He’s already given me some guidelines and things he wanted out of the shoe. It’s a collaboration, it’s an open conversation between us,” Ingelmo told SlamOnline.com.

D-Wade’s premier line is expected to be a “lifestyle/basketball cultural sneaker,” reports SoJones.

“I have so much creative control, and it’s going to evolve as the season goes on,” Wade told the Miami Herald.  ”It’s just cool to be able to have a lot of input.”

Wade has shown some interest in designing shoes before his announcement of a new line.
Earlier this year, the NBA baller designed customized shoe selections for the high end loafer brand Del Toro.
With some practice, do you think D-Wade’s line will meet NY Fashion Week expectations?  Tell us what you think.
