Houston, TX –  Two-time NBA Champion Dwyane Wade has hosted a weekend of events to raise money for charities and inspire fathers to play an active role in the lives of their children.

On Friday, Wade, who is well-known for his outreach work through his foundation, kicked off the All-Star Weekend with a meet and greet with Make-A-Wish children and their families.

Later on, Wade partnered with Pastor Joel Osteen and New York Knicks assistant general manager Allan Houston for a panel discussion on fatherhood and the importance of positive role models for children. The debate was moderated by Soledad O’Brien and Pastor Carl Lentz.

The Miami Heat star also found time to showcase his footwear brand, with an event to celebrate his signature LI-NING/WADE sneakers.

The night featured performances by T.I., with appearances by Common, Ludacris, Gabby Douglas, Queen Latifah and Alonzo Mourning.

On Saturday, for the sixth year in a row, Wade hosted his “All-Star Luncheon.” Funds raised from this event went directly to the Houston-based charity Houston Early Age Risk Testing & Screening. Spike Lee, Yao Ming and Pat Riley were in attendance.
