CLEVELAND (AP) — The Cleveland Cavaliers have officially rehired Mike Brown as their coach.

Brown, who led the Cavs to five consecutive playoff appearances before he was fired in 2010, is returning to the team for a second time. Brown will replace Byron Scott, the man who replaced him three years ago but was fired last week following Cleveland’s third straight losing season.

The 43-year-old Brown most recently coached the Los Angeles Lakers, but was let go five games into this season.

Brown’s career .652 winning percentage is the sixth highest in NBA history among coaches with at least 400 games. He’s led his team to at least the second round of the playoffs six straight times.

The Cavs will re-introduce Brown as their new coach this afternoon.
