Season eight of Keeping up with the Kardashians debuted on Sunday night and the first episode revealed that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are expecting a baby girl.
“I’m so excited we’re having a girl. Who doesn’t want a girl?” Kardashian said after discovering the news. “They are the best and I know that’s really what Kanye has always wanted. He wanted a little girl.”
The news came during a doctor’s visit where Kardashian, 32, was joined by her sisters Kourtney and Khloe and mom Kris Jenner.
As for West, Khloe told Ryan Seacrest that the rapper was busy performing in London or Paris, which explained why he was unable to attend the doctor’s appointment.
This doesn’t come as a surprise to many who have speculated that West has been missing in action for much of Kardashian’s pregnancy.
According to other members of the Kardashian clan, West has not been around often while stepfather Bruce Jenner admits that he has only met the rapper once.
“I’ve only met him once, he’s just never…he’s just not around,” Jenner told Extra. “He was in Paris the whole time…and he just hasn’t been around.”
That’s one time more than Jenner’s son, Brody
“I’ve never met him,” the younger Jenner recently admitted.
For now, neither Kardashian nor West have made any statements since news of their baby’s gender went public.
The couple is expecting their daughter in July.
