J. Cole gets last laugh, tops Kanye in 3rd week of sales

theGRIO REPORT - J.Cole's sophomore album Born Sinner jumped to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 this week.

J.Cole’s sophomore album, Born Sinner, jumped to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 this week.

The album debuted at No. 2, and remained there behind Wale’s The Gifted during its second week.

Now, three weeks after its release, Born Sinner has taken the top spot over both Wale and Kanye West, who fell to No. 3 after debuting at No. 1 ahead of J.Cole’s release, which came out the same week.

Born Sinner has sold a total of 439,000 copies, passing Yeezus, which has moved 431,000 units.

“It’s unusual for an album to rise to the top, as most titles have their best sales weeks during their debut frame,” according to Billboard.
