New York Fashion Week is here! For the next week, thousands will descend upon the “city that never sleeps” to partake of the best of American fashion.

In honor of this twice-yearly affair, we have decided to honor popular black men of style who are often overlooked by the mainstream press.

From hoodies to haberdasheries, black male style has always been a compelling cross-section of curbside cool and couture influence—often in the same outfit. And the current stars on the sartorial stage are further extending this peacocking tradition into the mainstream fashion arena.

It’s all about the details. Whether it’s a vintage fedora carefully cocked at a 30-degree angle, a muffler wrapped to hang in a loose “O” about the collar, an eye-popping print, or limited edition kicks, confidence remains the intangible that puts a look over the top.

We’re loving these top black male sartorial stars, as we gear up for New York Fashion Week.
