Elton John compares Miley Cyrus to Michael Jackson: ‘A meltdown waiting to happen’

Legendary singer Elton John has never been shy about throwing shade at his fellow musicians.
In the past he has offered harsh words for divas like Madonna and Tina Turner, so it should surprise no one that he calls Miley Cyrus a “meltdown waiting to happen,” adding, “And she’s so young! But she’s got two records in the top 20, so who is going to stop her?”
Cyrus has dominated headlines for weeks following her sexually charged performance at the MTV Video Music Awards this month and her explicit “Wrecking Ball” music video which arrived shortly afterwards.

In an interview with The Australian, John compared Cyrus’ antics to the later years of Michael Jackson’s life.
“He’d been doing drugs for so long, he’d been a mess for so long –- and I’ve known Michael since he was 12 or 13 –- that it was never going to happen.”
