Lee Daniels reportedly developing an interracial gay action hero movie

theGRIO REPORT - Lee Daniels revealed to Out magazine that his next project will be an action hero movie with an interracial gay couple as the leads.

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

Director Lee Daniels already has an idea of what his next feature film project will be — and the premise falls in line with the unique and controversial themes his work is best known for.

Daniels, the man behind Oscar-winning movie Precious and the box office hit The Butler, revealed to Out magazine that his next project will be an action hero movie with an interracial gay couple as the lead characters.

In the exclusive interview, Daniels describes the movie in more detail and says to think of it as a gay “Mr. and Mrs. Smith, but the two good-looking guys as the action heroes.”

According to the magazine, the film director has already tapped Alex Pettyfer to act in the movie. Pettyfer, who starred in Magic Mike, will reportedly take on the role as one of the gay action heroes.

“Alex Pettyfer is in it, [but] I have to find the right black guy opposite him. He’s so hot, isn’t he? So hot. And so aware of his hotness in a way that’s so…I love him to death,” Daniels told Out magazine.

No word yet on which black actor Daniels will cast as the other half of the crime-fighting duo.

However, he does reveal one of the movie’s big twists: “We don’t find out they’re gay until the end of the movie,” he said.

The movie is in the early development stages and no other information has yet been released.
