One McDonald’s restaurant in Houston, Texas has instituted a policy that bans customers from entering the store if their pants are sagging.

A sign on the store’s window reads: “Pull up your pants or don’t come in,” printed in big, bold letters.

Just below that, in a smaller font, it reads: “Try to have some decency & respect for others. No one wants to see your underwear.”

The store has reportedly denied customers service if their underwear is visible.

Local news station KHOU talked to restaurant-goers who have seen the message and in turn, received mixed responses.

“It’s private property. They have a right to enforce their rules. Sagging your pants coming in is ridiculous,” one customer told KHOU.

Meanwhile, others thought the policy was had negative racial undertones.

“Do I think it’s discriminatory? Yes,” another said.

The restaurant chain’s corporate representatives reportedly a statement saying, “Owner-operated franchises can customize the experience for their customers.”
