Chris Brown charged with assault in DC, police say

WASHINGTON (AP) — Police say singer Chris Brown has been arrested in Washington after a fight broke out near the W Hotel.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Police say singer Chris Brown has been arrested in Washington after a fight broke out near the W Hotel.

District of Columbia police spokesman Paul Metcalf says 24-year-old Brown was arrested and charged with felony assault Sunday. Metcalf says 35-year-old Chris Hollosy also was arrested on felony assault charges after the incident. Metcalf says both are being held in police custody until Monday.

The arrest was first reported by TMZ.

The incident started just before 4:30 a.m. Sunday. The W Hotel is near the White House.

Police say one adult male victim was injured and was reportedly taken to a hospital with injuries. Police have not identified the victim. It was not immediately clear whether the victim was taken to the hospital by ambulance or another vehicle.
