Bobbi Kristina Brown and Nick Gordon are no strangers to the spotlight.
But when Whitney Houston‘s daughter nonchalantly referred to her fiancé as “my hubby” in a tweet posted Wednesday, Nov. 6, some began to speculate that the duo had secretly married. But, as a rep for the 20-year-old singer tells E! News, she and Nick have not officially said “I do.”
They are, however, still headed towards the altar. Bobbi announced her engagement to Nick, who was partially raised by her late mom, in an October 2012 promo for the Lifetime reality show, The Houstons: On Our Own.
However, by November 2012, Nick, 23, confirmed he and Bobbi had broken up, tweeting, that the duo “were not engaged or dating. Just close like we have always been.”
Then fast-forward to July 2013 and Bobbi and Nick wereofficially engaged—again! She confirmed the news on her Facebook page, writing, “YES, we me nick are engaged. I’m tired of hearing people say ‘eww your engaged to your brother or if Whitney was still alive would we be together or would she approve of this.'”
She clarified that the twosome were not “real brother and sister, nor is he [her] adoptive brother.” She added, “My mom never adopted him. In fact, mommy was the one who even said that she knew that we were going to start dating.”
