Who’s Faith Jenkins?

A Louisiana native and former beauty queen (she won Ms. Louisiana in 2000 and was a first runner-up for Ms. America in 2001), Faith Jenkins has become a recognizable face while appearing as a legal expert on CNN, Fox News and MSNBC.  She graduated from Southern University law school in Baton Rouge, La. where she ranked at the top of her class.

Why is she on theGrio’s 100?

Jenkins’ star really began to shine when she offered up her analysis of the ongoing developments in the George Zimmerman trial in the death of Trayvon Martin during 2013. Her regular appearances on cable television, in particular on Rev. Al Sharpton’s Politics Nation, helped distinguish her as a charismatic and compelling voice of reason on one of the most polarizing, racially-charged cases of the decade.

She also has made high profile appearances on Fox & Friends, The O’Reilly Factor, Hannity, Studio B with Shepard Smith, Happening Now, Fox Business Channel’s Lou Dobbs Forum, Your World with Neil Cavuto, Willis Report, and truTV’s In Session,

What’s next for Faith?

Jenkins continues to make regular appearance on top-rated cable news shows and she’s branching out to cover a variety of issues like sexism, pop culture and bullying.  She also contributes occasional opinion columns on current events for the New York Daily News.
