'Online Dating Rituals of the American Male': Online dating from the men's point of view

theGRIO EXCLUSIVE - TheGrio has an exclusive clip from the upcoming Bravo series 'Online Dating Rituals of the American Male'...

Bravo is launching a new series full of handsome, single men, and theGrio was given an exclusive preview clip.

The new series, Online Dating Rituals of the American Male, takes a look at the world of online dating from the male perspective.

One of stars on the new reality show, celebrity trainer and Artist Muse creative director Marcus Pierce talked to theGrio about his online dating experiences and what he’s looking for in a potential partner.

The Texas native now resides in Los Angeles and said he turned to online dating because “it made a lot of sense.”

“I didn’t want to find myself goin’ out to bars and clubs and lounges and everything all the time because I just didn’t have the time to because of work,” said Pierce. “It’s very convenient. It just made sense to me that [online dating] was the route to go.”

As for the dating sites he uses? Pierce said he’s found his most successful dates from OkCupid and Match.com.  While Tinder may be a hot new application, the fitness trainer said it gets confusing, trying to determine what each person is looking for.

While he admits the way a woman looks does play a role in who catches his attention, Pierce doesn’t have a particular type and focuses on common interests as a place to start conversation. Pierce is passionate about sports, art, family and friends, so he uses those as starting points when looking through online profiles.

“At the core of me was always to find that love and that relationship my parents have,” he told theGrio. “One thing in my life that I have not been able to accomplish is finding that love, that partner to spend the rest of my life with.”

Viewers will have to tune in to this season to find out whether Pierce finds love or is still in the search for the right one.

You can watch the exclusive clip above and catch the series premiere this Sunday on Bravo at 10/9 C.
