Michael Jackson fans have been waiting with bated breath for a long-rumored new album featuring unreleased material from the King of Pop.

Well now those music lovers can mark the calendars for May 13th, because that’s when the L.A. Reid-produced Xscape will be available for purchase online and in retail chains.

This album marks the second posthumous Jackson album and will include tracks produced by Timbaland and other high-profile talents.

The concept behind that album differs somewhat from 2010’s Michael.  The album will feature remixes of existing MJ tracks as well as “contemporized” versions of previously unreleased material from Jackson’s legendary vaults.

John Branca and John McClain, co-executors of the Estate of Michael Jackson said, “Michael was always on the cutting edge and was constantly reaching out to new producers, looking for new sounds. He was always relevant and current. These tracks, in many ways, capture that spirit. We thank L.A. Reid for his vision.”
