Is 50 Cent finally ready to emerge from his direct-to-DVD purgatory?
The hip-hop star is reportedly signing on to co-star opposite comedian Melissa McCarthy in the upcoming action comedy Spy.
McCarthy has been box-office gold of late, starring in two huge hits last year: Identity Thief and The Heat.
Spy will be directed by Paul Feig, who made The Heat and McCarthy’s breakthrough movie Bridesmaids.
The film, which also co-stars Jude Law, Nia Long and Jason Statham, will feature McCarthy as a CIA analyst who is going into the field for the first time.
Apparently 50 Cent will be playing himself in the film, which is due to begin filming this April.
