Is Oprah Winfrey Network’s newest docu-series, Love in the City, an urban version of Sex and the City? We’ll let you decide.

Kiyah Wright, Bershan Shaw, Chenoa Maxwell and Tiffany Jones are four fabulous women taking New York City head on.

Having known each other for more than ten years, the women are constant sources of inspiration, support, competition and companionship for one another.

Two are married, two are single, and all are strong, fiercely independent women who believe in living out their dreams and not letting anyone or anything get in their way.

In an interview with theGrio’s Chris Witherspoon the ladies of Love in the City talked about the similarities between their show and Sex and the City.

“We’ve known each other for ten plus years,” Tiffany said. “We deal with real issues… we laugh, we joke, we talk about men, sex, fashion. [Love in the City] is the new modern Sex in the City.

Tiffany and Bershan are both survivors of cancer and hope that viewers of Love in the City see their stories and gain awareness on how to overcome some of life’s obstacles.

“In 2007 I was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer. Two years later I was, two weeks before my wedding day, I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. A doctor told me I had three months to live,” Bershan recalled.

Through the group’s adventures, misadventures, romances, successes and life-altering struggles, they may not always see eye-to-eye, but when push comes to shove, they are there for each other with solid and unwavering support as they each face their own unique challenges and triumphs.

Tune into Love in the City Saturdays at 10/9c on OWN.
