Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

With a little help from L.A. Reid and Usher, the sounds of Michael Jackson boomed through Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles Thursday night at the iHeartRadio Music Awards.

Reid took the stage and debuted a previously unreleased Jackson song, “Love Never Felt So Good.” The song was first written and recorded by Jackson in 1983 along with Canadian songwriter Paul Anka.

Jackson’s upcoming album Xscape will hit stands on May 13. The album will contain eight unreleased tracks recorded between 1983 and 1999. The music has been “contemporized,” according to Reid. The new track is the first single off the album and is presented as a duet with Justin Timberlake.

“One of the greatest honors of my life is being entrusted with part of the musical legacy of perhaps the greatest artist in popular music history, Michael Jackson,” Reid told the crowd.

Other producers on the upcoming album include Rodney Jerkins and Jerome ‘Jroc’ Harmon, according to Rolling Stone.

Reid went on to say discovering “Love Never Felt So Good,” while looking through Jackson’s archives, reminded him of why the late singer is “the greatest.” R&B singer Usher later appeared on stage and provided his best version of Jackson’s classic dance moves.
