TODAY — President Obama once again proved his comedic chops at the annual White House Correspondents’ Association dinner over the weekend, even when technical difficulties got in the way.

As expected, the president took jabs at his adversaries during his speech Saturday night, but he also poked fun at himself. Or at least he tried to.

“George W. Bush took up painting after he left office, which inspired me to take up my own artistic side,” he said and then waited for an example of his work to show up on the projector screen.

“I’m sure we’ve got a shot of this. Maybe not,” he said when nothing appeared.

“The joke doesn’t work without the slide,” he said. “Oh, well. Assume that it was funny!”

Now we have proof that it would have been!
