Veteran actor and poet Saul Williams was selected as the play’s lead. He told theGrio.com “Holler If Ya Hear Me” is a production he was prepared for because of his extensive background in the theater and hip-hop spaces.

“It’s the culmination of everything I’ve worked for,”Williams said about his part in the 2Pac-inspired production. “It’s timely.”

Previews begin on June 2nd.
