Testimony began Wednesday in the drunk driving trial of Flint, Michigan city councilman Eric Mays with a bizarre courtroom spectacle.

Objection after objection was called out as Mays began his defense.

“I’m doing my best to try and represent myself,” Mays told the judge, reports NBC 25.

“I had to prove my point to the jury. These people are not telling the truth and didn’t do a thorough job,” says Mays.
