Is Columbus Short looking to be a stand-up comedian?

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

Columbus Short has been keeping a low profile since being fired from the popular political-drama show Scandal. The actor had a string of bad press that included battery charges  filed by his wife.  Fans of Short have been wondering what will be his next step.

Gossip site TMZ caught up with Short in Burbank, California outside of the comedy club Flappers and asked him just that, and the 31- year old actor said he was doing his “stand-up grind.”

“Started from the bottom and now we here. Back at the bottom,” Short said jokingly.

When TMZ asked Short how he received word that he was terminated from the show, the mood got weird but Short kept the jokes coming.

“They sent me a Snapchat. I almost the missed the message because it went away too fast.”
