IRMO, South Carolina — South Carolina authorities say a little boy has died after he was struck in the head by a falling tree limb.
3-year-old Jacoby Latta was on a church picnic with family and friends Saturday at Irmo Community Park when the accident happened. The park is located off the shore of Lake Murray just ten miles north of Columbia, the capital of South Carolina.
The child was reportedly playing with friends just outside the playground when a large branch fell and struck him in the head.
Young Jacoby was rushed to a close by hospital where he was pronounced dead Saturday night.
