Djimon Hounsou has an epic summer ahead, starring in two of the season’s most anticipated blockbusters, How to Train Your Dragon 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy.

And the 50-year-old actor has high hopes for both of the upcoming projects.

Hounsou stars alongside Gerard Butler, Kit Harringon, and Craig Ferguson, as Drago Bludvist, a ruthless villain who tries to destroy a Viking clan with an army of dragons in How to Train Your Dragon 2.

According to Forbes, How to Train Your Dragon grossed $494 million back in 2010 and is expected to rake in around $650 million worldwide this time around at the box office.

The movie premiered at the Cannes Film Festival last month to rave reviews and hits nationwide this Friday.

During an interview with theGrio, Hounsou talked about the early success of How to Train Your Dragon 2 and his upcoming film Guardians of The Galaxy, which has an August 1 theatrical release date.

“The media success with Dragon 2 has been just unbelievable. We just opened the film in Cannes, and the reception was just unbelievable. I’m looking forward to this coming out and certainly riding its success all the way to Guardians of the Galaxy.”

Hounsou also opened up about his recent decision to join the cast of the live action film version of Tarzan.

How to Train Your Dragon 2 hits theaters nationwide June 17.
