CeeLo Green pulled from music festival after ecstasy plea

theGRIO REPORT - CeeLo Green has been dropped from a Louisiana music festival which he is set to headline because he no longer suits the concert’s wholesome family environment.

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

CeeLo Green has been dropped from a Louisiana music festival, which he was set to headline, because he no longer suits the concert’s wholesome family environment.

Organizers of the Gretna Heritage Festival just released a statement saying that Green will be replaced by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. They did not elaborate on why CeeLo’s performance was scratched out.

This issue, however, was cleared up by TMZ. Apparently, CeeLo pleaded no contest last week to slipping something in a woman’s drink. This deal allows him to maintain his innocence.

Aside from the Gretna Heritage Festival, CeeLo was also cut from the Freedom Live concert set later this month in Washington D.C.

Organizers said the cut was made not for the plea deal but for the weird set of tweets he posted after that.

The messages were about a woman having to remember being raped in order for it to really have happened. He has since apologized for his comments, but decisions have already been made.

CeeLo has yet to issue an official statement on the matter.
