Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston has been suspended for the first half of this weekend’s game against Clemson after yelling obscenities on campus earlier this week.

Influenced by a popular internet meme, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner jumped on a table yelled, “F*** her right in the p****!”

The meme started when a random passerby jumped into a live newscast

While he did not break any laws, the school still decided to suspend Winston.

“As a result of his comments yesterday, which were offensive and vulgar, Jameis Winston will undergo internal discipline and will be withheld from competition for the first half of the Clemson game,” Garnett S. Stokes, Florida State’s interim president, and Athletic Director Stan Wilcox said in a joint statement.

During a press conference Wednesday, held immediately after the half-game suspension was announced, Winston apologized “to the university, to my coaches and to my teammates.”

This isn’t the star player’s first time making headlines for questionable behavior.

Winston was linked to a sexual assault case, involving the rape of a female student, but charges against Winston were never filed.

Winston was also issued a civil citation in April after he was caught attempting to shoplift crab legs from a Florida super market.

Redshirt sophomore Sean Maguire will get Saturday’s start against their ACC Atlantic Division rival.
