Kenan Thompson is reportedly leaving Saturday Night Live after this season, according to a report by TMZ.

TMZ cites anonymous, inside sources from the show say that say Thompson initially intended to leave SNL earlier but was convinced by the show’s creator and executive producer Lorne Michaels to stay on.

A spokesperson for SNL later denied the report.

Thompson has been a core member of SNL since joining the cast back in 2003. He started in featured roles but eventually created a big niche for himself.

His last season will be his twelfth one, making him the longest running African-American cast member on the show.

The good news is that there are no hard feelings between Thompson and SNL, as he is leaving the show on good terms. Sources also told TMZ that he’s moving to LA and is currently in talks for a new show.
