Actress, director, choreographer, Jasmine Guy is probably best known for her role as Whitley Gilbert on the 90’s sitcom A Different World, and in a new interview for Oprah.com, she’s revealing some of valuable lessons she’s learned throughout her career.

Guy recently took part in the web series Who Am I as part of the newly re-launched website Oprah.com.

During her interview, she opened up about her early years as a dancer performing in the Alvin Ailey dance troupe as well her TV debut in the series Fame and her role in the film School Daze and later A Different World.

“My biggest lesson in my life has been learning how to live in between the gigs,” Guy confessed. “I understand my own fragility, and I don’t take that for granted anymore.”

The Emmy Award-winning digital team behind Oprah’s Lifeclass spent over six months with the YouTube Space LA community developing original web content, including the Who Am I series, which rolls out every Thursday.

Who Am I delves into the concept idea of self-identity and what it means to look within oneself for insight to carry through our daily lives.  The interview series features celebrity guests sharing the qualities that define who they are and investigates the power of knowing oneself and the positivity that can be drawn from it. Celebrities featured on the web series include Nicole Richie, Brandy, Michelle Phan, Pat O’Brien, Randy Jackson, La Toya Jackson, Jasmine Guy, Vivica A. Fox and AJ Johnson.
