A recent assault and robbery has left an aspiring Atlanta model missing two of her front teeth. The woman, Zaynah Mason, said she was walking home around 7 PM when a gunman came for her purse and cell phone.

Mason, however, resisted and fought back, which caused the young man to punch her in the face hard enough that it knocked out her two front teeth.

Mason thought that another woman appearing on the scene was there to help, saying that, “I figure, like, girl to girl, she was coming to help me. But that wasn’t the case.” It turned out that the woman was not a Good Samaritan but an accomplice of the attacker.

This women sprayed Mason with mace, and then the pair of attackers fled in a black BMW SUV, according to Atlanta’s WXIA-TV. A witness stayed with Mason until the police arrived.

Mason, a Georgia State University student currently taking the semester off, said of the incident that, “it’s pretty bold to rob somebody on such a busy street in broad daylight.”

On the potential impact of the attack on her modeling career, Mason said, “I’m actually supposed to have a shoot later this week, but I don’t know how that’s going to go, because when I was cast I had teeth.” Mason also urged other women to “not travel alone, because stuff like this could anytime.”

Police are trying to find the two attackers but have yet to locate the suspects; they are asking anyone with information on the vicious assault to report it to authorities.
