A Delaware woman was arrested last Monday after her four-year-old daughter brought and shared over 200 bags of heroin at a local daycare center.

Teachers at the Hickory Tree Child Center in Selbville, Delaware, immediately called police and medics to the scene after noticing some  of the children holding small bags of an unknown, white powdery substance — which subsequent tests proved to be heroin.

According to police reports, the girl unknowingly brought the drugs into daycare by using a backpack provided by her mother, 30-year-old Ashley Tull. The bag had 249 small bags of heroin inside, weighing a total of 3.735 grams.

The young girl shared several packets with her classmates, believing that they were candy.

Police immediately apprehended Tull as she arrived at the daycare and was taken into custody after initial investigation. She is charged with child endangerment and maintaining a drug property and is out on a $6,000 bail.

Her daughter, as well as her two older children, are currently in the care of a relative, with orders for Tull to not have any contact with them at all.

Several children in the daycare center who came into contact with the substance were brought to local hospitals for precautionary measures but have been released since.
