Suge Knight collapses in Vegas jail

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

Rap mogul Suge Knight was taken to the hospital after passing out in a Las Vegas jail due to a blood clot. Knight was jailed for robbery after an alleged incident where he and comedian Katt Williams stole a photographer’s camera.

The 49-year-old Knight is reportedly suffering from a blood clot in his lung. Following a recent shooting, Knight had been prescribed blood thinning medication. His lawyer Julie Raye indicated that the clot was probably a result of the recent shooting, saying, “Suge was shot six times in the stomach two months ago — the likely cause of the blood clot.”

Knight passed out twice in his cell, causing damage to his head and spine during the falls. He was then rushed to a local hospital, where doctors discovered the clot.

Knight’s attorneys indicated that they expected their client to fully recover and that the injuries weren’t life threatening. Knight had posted the $75,000 in bond and was scheduled for release from jail on Monday evening.

Due to Knight and Williams’ previous arrests, the pair face hefty prison terms if convicted of robbery. Knight could serve a maximum of 30 years to life, with Williams potentially doing a stint of up to 7 years in connection with the Sept. 5 incident, when they took a camera away from a woman in Beverly Hills.
