An Atlanta-area daycare worker has been fired after video surfaced showing the woman appearing to kick the child away.
The video shows 20-month-old Jayden Reece coming toward a playroom worker, who then allegedly shoves the child with her foot. Police say Jayden was not injured but that he was kicked twice.
Bob Phelps, co-owner of the daycare, shared the video with Channel 2 Action News. He maintained that the worker, Alexis Wilson-Britten, was entirely in the wrong and that children’s safety was the highest priority.
Last week, Britten was arrested for simple battery and is now out on bond. She was reportedly “scheduled” to be fired before the incident due to poor performance.
