Katherine Heigl, whose new show, State of Affairs, premiered on Monday, talked to Extra co-host Mario Lopez about the perception that she’s difficult to work with.

The 35-year-old actress also opened up about her thoughts on Shonda Rhimes, saying she’s a “big fan” of Rhimes’ work and that she watches Scandal “every week.” Rhimes made comments to the Hollywood Reporter last month about how the Scandal cast had “no Heigls.”

But Heigl isn’t bitter about the comments. She told Lopez, “I am sorry that she feels that way, and I wish her nothing but greatness, and I have nothing negative to say about Shonda.”

She also said, “I’m sorry she is left with such a crappy impression of me. I wish I could do something to change that. Maybe I will be able to someday.”

As for people who still think she’s trouble to work with, Heigl explained, “There’s nothing I can do about this except to sort of prove it wrong, you know, and the only way to prove it wrong is for people to have a work experience with me that doesn’t speak to that at all.”

Heigl also spoke about new show, describing it as “a real hell of a ride,” while also saying, “This job has been such a blessing for me because I had the good fortune of being able to afford to take time off and be home with my kids and then when I decided to kind of come back I could dictate the schedule.”
