Michael Brown’s father is crushed.
Less than 24 hours after a grand jury decided not to indict Darren Wilson in the shooting death of his son Michael Brown, Michael Brown Sr. spoke exclusively to MSNBC‘s Rev. Al Sharpton Tuesday.
“I was upset,” Brown Sr. told Sharpton following the decision. “I didn’t understand.”
Brown was joined in the interview by family attorney Benjamin Crump. He offered his emotional reaction to Sharpton in the back room of Greater St. Mark Family Church in Ferguson.
Brown said his son’s character was “crucified” in the media, describing him as a “good” and “quiet” person.
“For people that don’t even know my son, they probably wish they did,” Brown said. “The things that they are saying is terrible.”
Wilson told ABC News’Â George Stephanopoulos he had a “clean conscience” because he “did his job right.” Wilson also said he wouldn’t have done anything differently that day.
“My emotions are all over the place,” Brown said. “I don’t know what to feel. I’m just, I’m just here. I’m empty off what happened.”
