His live-in girlfriend served waffles instead — and that’s what reportedly landed him in prison.
According to the Gainesville police, Irving poked his girlfriend in the eye to express his displeasure at the breakfast mixup, and the attack led to a call to the police.
Irving was led away in handcuffs Sunday morning.
Sgt. Becky Butscher, a sheriff’s spokeswoman, said Irving had neither pancakes nor waffles for breakfast Monday mornings — the jail served grits, bread, sausage, and fruit.
Takes it easy next time James. Waffles taste good, too.
